Wood’s Chapel BBQ, a neighborhood barbecue concept from chef Todd Ginsberg, Shelley Sweet, and Jennifer and Ben Johnson, officially announced it is open for lunch and dinner on its Facebook page:
“Today’s the day! Thank you to all who got us to this day,” according to Wednesday’s post.
Sweet also confirmed the restaurant’s opening over the phone to Atlanta Business Chronicle. She said construction of Wood’s Chapel kicked off last December, but the concept itself has been in the works for years.
The four are partners in several popular Atlanta restaurants, including The General Muir, Fred’s Meat & Bread, Yalla and Midtown’s micro food hall The Canteen. Sweet and the Johnsons also are behind West Egg Café, a mainstay in West Midtown.
