After a year of pop-ups in Summerhill, the permanent location of fried chicken sandwich shop How Crispy Express is now firmly rooted on Georgia Avenue in the neighborhood. Backed by Ticonderoga Club’s Greg Best and Bart Sasso, chef William Silbernagel (The Bookhouse Pub, Argosy), and Atlanta architect Luke Wilkinson, expect just five sandwiches on the menu, including a vegetarian version made with a crispy chickpea patty, a nod to the quintessential Atlanta flavor lemon pepper wet, and fried chicken spiced with tikka seasoning. In addition to its sandwiches, look for chicken nuggets and sides like collards, mac and cheese, and yucca fries. Do not skip ordering the Buffalo chicken dip or the Coca-Cola cake here.
