Hot Dog Pete’s Is Now Open on Georgia Avenue in Summerhill

Hot Dog Pete’s opened last week on the edge of Georgia Avenue in Summerhill, near Georgia State University’s stadium. The hot dog joint, owned by Nick Pihakis of Jim N’ Nick’s Bar-B-Q, is open for dine-in service, but includes options to order online for takeout or delivery via DoorDash.

The restaurant shares patio space for up to 50 people with forthcoming doughnut shop Hero Doughnuts, based in Homewood, Alabama.

Pihakis named Hot Dog Pete’s for his business partner, Pete Graphos. Graphos founded Alabama-based chain Sneaky Pete’s Hotdogs in 1966. The Atlanta shop pays homage to Sneaky Pete’s 50-year hot dog legacy in Alabama, and features an original “secret sauce” created by Graphos.

Hot dogs are cooked over charcoal, then dressed to order from a variety of toppings. Eight specialty hot dogs, including a vegan option, are listed on the menu, along with sides like onion rings, waffle fries, loaded fries, and collard greens cole slaw. Drinks such as floats, milkshakes, and eventually a handful of beers are also available on the menu.

Open Monday – Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
