Chef Jarrett Stieber (Eat Me Speak Me) provided Eater Atlanta with an update on his forthcoming Summerhill neighborhood restaurant, Little Bear. The chef hopes to open Little Bear on Georgia Avenue by the end of the year.
The interior of the 30-seat restaurant (an homage to Stieber’s fluffy Pyrenees mountain dog) includes a long banquette with a row of ten two-top tables, a ten-seat bar, and a front window rail that connects to the bar where people can lounge with drinks and snacks.
Little Bear’s dinner menu features approximately 13 shareable dishes, ranging from $7 to $13 per plate, broken out into hot, cold, and sweet sections. Like Eat Me Speak Me, Stieber says to expect the menu to change weekly, as most ingredients are locally sourced and seasonal.
“We want Little Bear to feel very welcoming and comfortable, like we tried to do with Eat Me Speak Me. At the core, this place is going to simply be a neighborhood restaurant where people can have a great time.”
Until Little Bear opens, Stieber can be found hosting monthly pop-up events at Halfway Crooks Beer brewery across the street from his future restaurant.
