South Atlanta housing, projects move forward

When Dan Joy and his team at Rule Joy Trammell + Rubio complete their work in Southside Atlanta’s Summerhill development, they will deliver housing, retail and a generous amount of green space to the area in conjunction with developer Carter USA’s master plan for the area.

“There are a mix of uses in the Summerhill neighborhood, through the energy provided by Georgia State University-related activity to the current neighborhood activity and the all-day liveliness of our retail uses. This dynamic mix is contagious, and others are taking note,” Carter president and CEO Scott Taylor said.“We’re already seeing proposals and plans coming on board for surrounding areas, and we can also see this in the expedited lease-up of Aspen Heights’ student housing project on our site. We also see this in Switchyards opening a second location adjacent to the Met and the success of the Lee + White development. The key now will be to continue working closely with the neighborhoods and listening to their wants and needs.”
